Dead by Daylight has never been harder to cheat in. After years of running a relatively relaxed version of Easy Anti-Cheat, Behaviour Interactive finally upgraded to kernel-level EAC in late 2025. The result was devastating for the cheat community — dozens of providers got mass-detected, thousands of accounts were hardware banned overnight, and most of the free tools that had worked for years stopped functioning completely.
But the game is still cheatable in 2026. You just need to know which providers survived the upgrade, which approach is safe, and which features are worth paying for. We spent three months testing every major DBD cheat provider to build this comparison.
DBD Anti-Cheat in 2026
Before we compare providers, you need to understand what you're up against. DBD's anti-cheat landscape changed dramatically between 2024 and 2026.
In 2024 and early 2025, DBD ran a user-mode version of EAC. It scanned running processes, checked for known cheat signatures, and monitored basic memory access patterns. It was effective against free paste cheats but easy to bypass for anyone with a decent external overlay. You could run basic ESP tools for months without a single detection.
That changed in October 2025 when BHVR rolled out the kernel-level EAC update. This is the same aggressive anti-cheat that Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Rust use. It loads a kernel driver at boot, monitors all driver activity on the system, scans for unsigned code, and uses hardware fingerprinting to track banned players across accounts.
The impact was immediate:
- Every internal/injection cheat was detected within the first week of the update
- Three major paid providers had their entire user bases banned in a single wave
- Free cheats became completely unusable — even running one for a single match results in a ban
- Hardware bans became standard — BHVR now bans your hardware ID, not just your Steam account
What Makes a DBD Cheat "Safe" in 2026?
With kernel-level EAC in play, the criteria for a safe cheat are much stricter than they were a year ago. Here's what separates the providers that survived from those that didn't.
External vs. Internal Architecture
This is the single most important factor. Internal cheats inject a DLL or shellcode directly into the DBD game process. This gives them full control — they can modify game behavior, teleport players, instantly complete generators, or make killers move at triple speed. The problem is that kernel-level EAC monitors the game process integrity constantly. Any injected code triggers a detection almost immediately.
External cheats run as a completely separate process. They read game memory through kernel-level techniques but never inject anything into the game. ESP overlays, radar displays, and information tools all work externally. Because they don't modify the game process, EAC has a much harder time detecting them.
Overlay vs. Injection Rendering
Even among external cheats, there's a critical distinction in how they render visual information. Overlay rendering draws ESP boxes, health bars, and other visual elements on a transparent window that sits on top of the game. The game process never knows the overlay exists. Injection rendering hooks into the game's graphics pipeline to draw inside the game itself. It looks cleaner but carries detection risk because it touches the game's rendering process.
In 2026, overlay rendering is the only safe approach for DBD. Any cheat that hooks into DirectX or the game's rendering engine is at high risk.
Kernel-Level Memory Access
The best providers in 2026 use their own kernel driver to read game memory. This operates at the same privilege level as EAC itself, making it extremely difficult to detect. User-mode memory reading — the technique most cheap cheats use — is now detected by EAC's monitoring within minutes.
Internal/injection DBD cheats are extremely dangerous after the kernel EAC upgrade. Even cheats that advertise "updated for 2026" will get you banned if they use injection. Always verify that your provider uses a fully external, overlay-based approach before purchasing.
Provider Comparison — March 2026
We tested every provider we could get access to over a 3-month period. Here are the results.
| Provider | Status | Type | Key Features | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TATEWARE (TATE BY DAYLIGHT) | Undetected 180+ days | External overlay | Full ESP, Radar, Auto Wiggle, Perk Display, Speed Mod | €5.99 / 3 days |
| Provider B | Risky — partial detections | External | ESP, basic radar | ~$12 / week |
| Provider C | Detected — mass ban Feb 2026 | Internal injection | Full feature set (when working) | ~$20 / week |
| Provider D | Detected — avoid | Internal injection | ESP, speed hack, teleport | ~$8 / week |
| Free cheats (various) | All detected | Internal / paste | Varies | Free (+ your HWID) |
Detection status changes constantly. We don't name specific detected providers because their status can shift week to week. Focus on the architecture (external vs. internal) and track record over time rather than any single snapshot.
Essential DBD Cheat Features
DBD is an asymmetric horror game, not a shooter. The features that give you an advantage are completely different from what you'd want in Fortnite or Valorant. Here's what actually matters.
Survivor ESP
As a survivor, ESP lets you see the killer's position at all times through walls and objects. You know exactly where they are, which direction they're heading, and whether they're coming toward you. This eliminates the core fear mechanic of the game and turns every chase into a calculated escape. You also see other survivors, generators, totems, exit gates, the hatch, and item locations in chests.
Killer Radar
As a killer, radar shows you where every survivor is on the map at all times. No more guessing which generator they're working on. No more losing survivors in corn fields. You know exactly where to go, which gens to pressure, and who's hiding in a locker. Combined with generator progress indicators, you can make optimal decisions every second of the match.
Perk Display
See what perks every player is running before and during the match. Know if a survivor has Decisive Strike before you pick them up. Know if they're running Dead Hard before you swing. Know if the killer has NOED so you can cleanse totems proactively. Information that normally takes the entire match to discover is available from the loading screen.
Auto Wiggle and Auto Unhook
These are quality-of-life automation features. Auto Wiggle handles the struggle mechanic when you're being carried to a hook — no more mashing buttons. Auto Unhook attempts self-unhook at optimal timing, giving you the best chance of the 4% escape without requiring precise input.
Speed Modifications
Subtle speed increases of 5-8% make an enormous difference in DBD. As a survivor, you reach pallets and windows just barely ahead of the killer — enough to extend chases significantly. As a killer, you close gaps faster and catch survivors who would normally make it to safety. The key word is subtle. Anything above 10% is obvious to experienced players and will get you reported.
Generator Progress Display
See the repair progress of every generator on the map. As a killer, you can prioritize generators that are close to completion. As a survivor, you can coordinate repairs efficiently without voice communication. This feature alone wins games by enabling optimal strategy.
Survivor Cheats vs. Killer Cheats
DBD is asymmetric by design, and the cheating experience reflects that. What helps you as a survivor is different from what helps you as a killer.
As a survivor, the most valuable features are killer ESP (always knowing where the killer is), generator ESP (knowing which gens are closest to completion), and subtle speed modifications (extending chases). Auto wiggle and auto unhook add convenience. The goal is information and survival — you want to know everything the killer is doing without being obvious about it.
As a killer, survivor ESP is the most powerful feature by far. Seeing all four survivors at all times transforms the game from a hide-and-seek guessing game into a strategic routing exercise. Generator progress lets you make optimal patrol decisions. Perk display prevents you from walking into traps like DS or Head On. For ranged killers like Huntress or Deathslinger, aimbot assistance on projectiles turns every shot into a hit.
The best providers offer both survivor and killer feature sets in a single package, so you can switch roles freely without needing different software.
Detection History in Dead by Daylight
Understanding past ban waves helps you evaluate risk. Here's a timeline of major detections in DBD.
- October 2025 — Kernel EAC rollout. Every known internal cheat detected. Estimated 15,000+ accounts banned in the first wave.
- November 2025 — Second wave targeting users who continued using detected internal tools. Hardware bans implemented for repeat offenders.
- January 2026 — Provider C's external tool detected due to a user-mode memory reading vulnerability. Approximately 3,000 users banned.
- February 2026 — BHVR's largest ban wave, targeting multiple providers simultaneously. Only fully external, kernel-level tools survived.
- March 2026 — Current status: external overlay tools with kernel-level memory access remain undetected. Everything else has been caught at some point.
How to Stay Safe Using DBD Cheats
Even with an undetected cheat, your behavior in-game matters. Players who get reported frequently face manual review, and BHVR's moderation team has become more aggressive in 2026.
- Use external-only cheats — Never use anything that injects into the game process. This is rule number one.
- Keep speed modifications subtle — Stay under 8%. Anything higher is noticeable to experienced players who understand movement speed values.
- Don't find the hatch instantly every game — If you're a survivor who magically knows where the hatch spawns every single match, players will report you.
- Pretend to search — Even with ESP showing you everything, take a moment to look around naturally before heading to your target.
- Don't go on long win streaks — Alternate between strong and moderate performances. A 95% escape rate or a 4K every single game will draw attention.
- Run an HWID spoofer — DBD hardware bans are permanent. A spoofer protects your hardware identity so a ban doesn't follow you to new accounts.
- Never record or stream with overlays visible — This should be obvious, but it happens more than you'd think.
Stick with ESP as your primary feature. It provides the biggest competitive advantage with the lowest detection risk and the least suspicious gameplay. Speed mods and automation features are nice to have but should be used conservatively. External overlay, kernel-level memory reading, and an HWID spoofer — that's the safe setup for 2026.

Get TATE BY DAYLIGHTBottom Line
The DBD cheating landscape in 2026 is smaller and more dangerous than it's ever been. The kernel EAC upgrade eliminated most providers and made internal cheats completely unviable. But external overlay tools with proper kernel-level protection continue to work. The key is choosing a provider with a proven track record, using features conservatively, and always running an HWID spoofer as a safety net.
